Determining your wedding style is a key component to your wedding day; right up there with having a solid budget and a great vendor team actually! Your design is what drives your day and makes it uniquely you. It is also the “fun part” of the planning process for many of my couples because they get to really dive into their own personalities!
So, how do you create a wedding style that is uniquely you? Well, luckily, Sweet Oak Events has a super easy method to creating YOUR style in just 3 easy steps. Let’s check them out!
Step One: After you have most of your logistical brain in order (i.e. have a budget in place, have your venue, caterer, DJ, etc. booked, etc.) then you are ready to dive deep into the world of wedding styles. The first step crafting your perfect style is to think about your favorite things. Make a list of your favorite foods, favorite places to go, favorite places to shop, etc. You will likely see a style emerge just from doing that!
Step Two: Now that you have a good idea of your personal style, it’s time to convert that over to a wedding style. Think about (& make a list!) of the top 3 most important aspects of your day as it relates to design. Then, do your top 3 least important. Think about the formality of your event as well as the logistical portions of it that will need to be designed. For example, if you have 2 bridesmaids, you shouldn’t choose 3 dress swatches. Are there any flowers that you love/hate/are allergic to? All of this information should be considered and written down when determing your wedding style!
Step Three: Make it happen! After steps one and two, you should have a pretty good idea of your overall vision for your day and how it relates to your personal style. Now, you are free to head to Pinterest and pin photos that spark joy and reflect the vision you have casted for your wedding style.
