They’re your support team. Your A-1 favorite people ever. The ones that will stand by your side and support you on the biggest day of your life, so it’s important that when you’re choosing your bridal party, you make the right choices.
Choosing the right people can be a little daunting and maybe even challenging if you have lots of friends that could make the cut. But, don’t worry. Sweet Oak Events has a fool-proof plan that will make choosing your bridal party easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Let’s get started.
There are 4 main steps to choosing your bridal party. First, consider the size of your wedding. Second, make a list of everyone who might make the cut. Third, set honest expectations. Fourth, ask them to be in your bridal party!
CONSIDER THE SIZE OF YOUR WEDDING: Sure you can technically have however many bridesmaids and groomsmen you like, but try to think about ratios. You likely want there to be more people sitting rather than standing, so try to keep your bridal party size relative to the total guest count. More isn’t always merrier.
MAKE YOUR LIST: Take the time to write down everyone that you might want to ask to be in your bridal party. Start with siblings and work your way down to friends. I have a trick up my sleeve for narrowing this list! Keep reading!
SET HONEST EXPECTATIONS: If your BFF lives half a country away, she may not be the best choice for your Maid of Honor. You can definitely include her, but be realistic about who is the best fit for each job.
ASK THEM TO BE IN YOUR BRIDAL PARTY: You have your list and know each person’s role! Congrats! Now all that’s left is to ask them to join you on your big!
The moment you have all been waiting for. The bridal party point system makes it super easy to choose who can make the cut to be in your bridal party simply because it gives you a clear line of yes or no. Obviously, sometimes there are exceptions to these guidelines, so feel free to adjust these recommendations as you see fit!
